“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
It’s a cliche, but it’s so true in so many ways. From improving our finances one habit at a time, to figuring out how to parent day-by-day, you never get where you’re going in one giant leap. It’s a series of repetitive small steps that add up to big change.
I started this blog back in January with the goal of helping new parents like myself make good financial decisions. It’s been a lot of fun so far and I’ve learned a lot.
Today, I’m stepping up my game by committing to the Yakezie Challenge. The Yakezie Network is a group of personal finance and lifestyle bloggers committed to being awesome at what they do. I want to expand my reach and connect with as many new parents as possible, and I believe that this network can help me do that.
But you can’t just join. To be accepted, you have to go through a six month qualifying period in which you pledge to:
-Announce that you’ve joined the challenge.
-Write regular, quality content.
-Get to know, learn from and promote other personal finance bloggers.
-Break 200,000 in Alexa score (a ranking of websites).
Today is the start of my six months. My current Alexa rank is 4,158,966, and I have to get to 200,000 by October 25, so I’ve got a long way to go. But if I want to make a difference, I have to commit to improvement. And that improvement will come one small step at a time.
I excited about the challenge and ready to get going. Let’s do it!
